Founder
Matthew Nicaud is the founder and president of Lighthouse Policy Advisors (LPA). With years of experience in public policy and government relations, he brings a unique blend of expertise in both policy development and advocacy.
Professional Experience
Matthew previously served as the Director of Policy at the Mississippi Center for Public Policy, a leading think tank in the state. In this role, he oversaw the production of over 150 policy briefings, op-eds, articles, and original research on topics such as income tax reform, healthcare, school choice, and regulatory reform. Along the way, he also developed relationships in over 35 states. His work has been cited in state and national outlets including the Northside Sun, Clarion Ledger, Fox News, and Real Clear Policy.
Later, Matthew led the legislative efforts of Alliance Defending Freedom in the state capitols of Alabama, Mississippi, and Louisiana. There, he successfully advocated for issues such as free speech, protecting women's sports, upholding child safety, and other critical legislative priorities.
Founding Lighthouse Policy Advisors
The inspiration for LPA came from a fishing trip by the Sand Island Lighthouse, located 3 miles off the Alabama Coast. Observing the lighthouse that guided mariners for over 130 years under the toughest conditions, Matthew sought to replicate that through a dedication to help others make a difference in public policy. Through Lighthouse Policy Advisors, Matthew seeks to equip clients with the tools needed to make a shining impact on public policy and society.
